now this article is pretty long but its really a good read..

ha.. i know there are many people out there who mock at SMU's Creative Thinking (CT) class..

i admit that the lesson can be a bit useless in the sense that it doesnt teach you much concrete stuff..


however, one of the reason why i chose SMU is because i am here to learn soft skills instead of plain o' hard skills such as pure facts and knowledge.

of course, facts and knowledge is still useful in this time but i think Universities have placed too much emphasis on it till they have neglected the more important aspects in life.

Many times, the outside world requires more than just the textbooks. it demands us to gather knowledge and make sense out of it. at an even higher level, we should be able to create something new.

Another important skill is the people skill. the reason why all of us enter a Uni. is to attain a management level position ( ie. big bucks ). therefore, if we lack the people skills ( balls ) to lead a team to success, we are pretty screwed.



ha den it comes the problem of too many leaders and no followers... in this case, its a dog eat dog world.. : )
